  2. I stayed up way too late to finish this one, I couldn t put it down I thought this had an interesting premise At the young age of seven Lady Graeye was sent to live at a convent The book opens eleven years later when she is about to take her vows and become an official nun In her heart it is not something she wants to do, but sees no other way out When words comes that her brother has passed away and she is requested at home she sees this at finally having freedom and hopes to win her father s f [...]

  3. LADY OF EVE is the 2014 clean re write of VIRGIN BRIDE from 1994 I was so intrigued when I heard about this. What does it say about a scene that it can be completely deleted although not the allusion to what happens in the scene and it s consequences, AND the scene is a pivotal part of the story s conflict and still have the story be good compelling An interesting thought to consider, I think I d love to see clean re writes of romance stories that have descriptive sex scenes so I don t read them [...]

  4. This story will grab hold and propel you swiftly through its pages until you reach the end And even then you are still not prepared to say farewell The characters and plot are well written, and delightfully so Lady Of Eve is the sequel to Lady At Arms, both are clean read rewrites of Leigh s former novels Warrior Bride Virgin Bride.I am a big fan of Leigh s Inspirational fiction and found her clean read rewritten novel, Lady At Arms to be wonderful as well She has left me eager to read of her w [...]

  5. These books are borderline clean and Christian They have elements of Christianity, but are like a PG 13 movie I read other novels buy her and they are not so borderline, but any time you throw in attempted rape and sex before marriage and two characters that really like each other and talk about sex often you get a book that just really is not Christian or very clean But the sex scenes are cut short very early after the first kiss so I guess you can call these clean romance novels This book was [...]

  6. I think I liked this one even than the first And I really liked the first The story pulled me in from the beginning and kept me going until the very end I loved Gilbert and Graeye s love story The plot was well written and intriguing and the characters were very well developed The tension was strong and believable, especially since neither wanted to fall for the other At all I just really enjoyed their story and seeing the softening of their hearts along the way I hope there will be even medie [...]

  7. 3.5 StarsThis was a very sweet, very tame historical All in all a decent read.

  8. The second book in Tamara Leigh s Bride series And the sequel to Warrior Bride Lady Graeye Charwyck was summoned from the convent where she lived for 10 years to marry a man of her father s choice When her father s lands and title are taken by the king, Lady Graeye s fate seemed to be back at the convent and has no desire to go So she decides to lie with the first man she can find It happens to be Baron Gilbert Balmaine, her family s enemy.I read this many years ago and have reread it a few time [...]

  9. I read the clean re write called Lady of Eve This is one of my go to authors for fun historical romance with a dash of intrigue She hasn t disappointed me yet ough this one was a little weird I still liked it.

  10. So nice to read a good, clean story of love, hatred, revenge, forgiveness, superstition, and hope As always, Tamara Leigh did a wonderful job.

  11. Content violence with some details, pre marital sex and sexual references but without details, a dark element I liked watching Gilbert work through his emotions when it came to Graeye However, the rest of the story did not interest me as much and I am not a fan of the darker elements found in Edward and William.

  12. This was a sweet book I enjoyed the main characters and their story The book is not as masterfully written as this author s Age of Faith series but I still enjoyed it and could even see myself potentially rereading this. The ongoing tension between the characters is great There are some over the top heroics toward the end but the characters are still well done and the story is interesting I very much liked Graeye She s an interesting character and her toughness is a quiet graceful strength She is [...]

  13. Another great romance set in the Middle Ages with loads of adventure and intrigue with room for forgiveness and hope.

  14. Virgin Bride by Tamara LeighI read the Bride series a while ago and enjoyed this one the most. The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book I m adding it because I believe the one on the page does not depict this storyE WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO AVOID BEING SENT TO A CONVENT EVEN HER VIRTUELady Graeye Charwyck was desperate to escape the fate her father had planned for her to spend the rest of her life in a convent She could envision only one way out to lie with [...]

  15. Lady of Eve exceeded all my expectations This novel was so good and will definitely not be my last by Tamara Leigh I admit that it was a little bit awkward at first when there was a switch in characters POV Before I got used to Tamara s writing style, I was quite surprised at a switch to happen in between paragraph s of the other character s POV it started off by switching between characters with each chapter, but this gradually changed Despite what I mentioned above, I still say with conviction [...]

  16. It was okay, i think i much prefer Lizanne s story Simply because there was a lot adventure and intrigued, though i was glad that Lizanne did make an appearance in this novel with the Baron Wardieu it was a nice story I must say the plot itself was intriguing, especially the notion that in a world where people often judge individuals by what family they come from, it was nice to see, a novel where the heroine was as different from her family as a pig is a different animal from a cow I think tha [...]

  17. I really enjoyed this book for many reasons I liked that it was graphicinly, there was sexual things that happened, but there was no details and I liked it a lot It was a clean read Which is so nice There were a few twists and turns that I really enjoyed as well the father s first wife whaaaaaaa It was comical knowing all the misconceptions and lies and having that outsiders look I would suggest this for anyone who likes the time frame, knights and ladies and lords and manors and what not.

  18. I ve been a huge fan of Tamara Leigh s since I read Stealing Adda, and her middle ages books make me love her even Lady of Eve is the sequel to Lady at Arms , but could be read as a stand alone but trust mead Lady at Arms It s just too good not to The characters in this book made me fall in love with them immediately And the sparks between them add to the story and the plot is great, too I always recommend her books, and this is no different Pick this one up.

  19. As with all of Tamara Leigh s books, they pull you into the story immediately And I m glad she cleaned them up so we could read them I loved the build up of Graeye and Gilbert s relationship I really had a hard time putting the book down because of that Graeye s fatherd brotherwow, what complete horribly evil people.Moral Note Lady Graeye gives up her virginity to a stranger so that she does not have to take vows as a nun, not graphic Some innuendos mild to pointed, and talk of men forcing thems [...]

  20. PG13 but only because of the subject matterViolence talk of a murder, a suicide, sword fights, Middle Ages stuffLanguage no bad languageSex a seduction, then fade to black some kissingI was Captivated by this story I felt so sorry for the desperation of the h that lead to her very stark choices and subsequent consequences She is a powerful woman and very forgiving without being a doormat Really like her.

  21. Listened to the audiobook of Lady of Eve It s one of the clean rewrites of a former novel The narration is wonderful and the story never lets up in intensity Enjoyed this one even than the first in the series, which I really did like Still recommend this book for adult readers, since even though it is clean, there are adult situations throughout the story.

  22. I loved this one I wasn t sure of the premise and initially I hesitated about even reading it even though I have read and loved nearly all of her books Well I needn t have worried It was a different twist to how the H h came together and then the slow build of trust and eventually love between them But it was ultimately beautiful and rewarding.

  23. I liked this story but I wanted to slap Graeye for her someone love me attitude How many times did her father have to insult and push her away before it sunk through her head Whatevs As much of a bastard as Gilbert was at times I m glad he usually did the right thing and eventually did right by Graeye story 3narator 3.25

  24. A great book, it is a make you go weak in the knees kind Couldnt put it down till I finished it In some spots it does get a bit agonizing and you wish the hero would just come around and make sense or in places the heroine is a mite bit stubborn But if you stick around, you will get a wonderful story that is unique in its storyline and depiction of characters.

  25. Redeeming This is a wonderfully passionate yet sweet story of redemption I love how both Graeye and Gilbert are flawed, neither is a perfect hero or heroine by far and in the end they are both redeemed and forgiven.

  26. I felt the need to read a medieval novel written in the 90s so I picked up this one It was ok but I did get a bit annoyed with the main characters as I felt no attraction to them as a couple Decent read.

  27. Love this book Graeye finally gets her prayers answer by returning home and avoiding taking her vows at the covent To find after her King gets her family property to another for crimes of her brother that she will be sent back Newer version called lady of eve
